ORACLEASM-CONFIGURE(8) Oracle ASM Support Manual	ORACLEASM-CONFIGURE(8)

NAME
oracleasm-configure - Configure the Oracle ASMLib driver

SYNOPSIS
	   oracleasm configure [-l <manager>] [-i|-I] [-e|-d] [-s y|n]
			       [-u <user>] [-g <group>]
			       [-b|-p]
			       [[-o <order>] ...] [[-x <exclude>] ...]
	   oracleasm configure -h
	   oracleasm configure -V

DESCRIPTION
The configure command allows the administrator to set various
properties on the Oracle ASMLib driver, including ownership and startup
       behavior.

The configure command can be run as a command-line tool or in an
interactive mode. When run interactively, options passed on the
command-line become the default for the respective parameter.

If no options are specified, the current configuration is displayed.

OPTIONS
       -l|--manager <manager>
Specifies the manager device used to connect to the ASMLib driver.
Almost always unnecessary, as only one manager device is in use.

       -i|--interactive
Interactive operation. Each parameter will be queried
interactively, with the current value displayed.

       -I|--interactive-all
Extended interactive mode. This adds some advanced questions to the
configuration process, such as excluding certain disks from
	   scanning.

       -e|--enable
Configure the Oracle ASMLib driver to start on boot.

       -d|--disable
Configure the Oracle ASMLib driver not to start on boot.

       -s|--scanboot y|n
Configure whether disks will be scanned at startup.

       -u|--user <user>
Set the USER owning the Oracle ASMLib driver connection.

       -g|--group <group>
Set the GROUP owning the Oracle ASMLib driver connection.

       -o|--scanorder <pattern>
Scan disks matching PATTERN first. The -o option can be specified
multiple times, in order of precedence (first is highest). See
oracleasm-scandisks(8) for the format of PATTERN.

       -x|--scanexclude <pattern>
Exclude disks matching PATTERN from any scan. The -x option can be
specified multiple times. See oracleasm-scandisks(8) for the format
	   of PATTERN.

       -b|--logical
Make oracleasm use the logical block size as reported by the
	   storage device.

       -p|--physical
Make oracleasm use the physical block size as reported by the
	   storage device (default).

       -v|--verbose
Verbose operation. This will print any debugging information.

       -h|--help
	   Display usage information.

       -V|--version
	   Display version information.

EXAMPLES
       oracleasm configure
Display the current configuration of the Oracle ASMLib driver.

       oracleasm configure -i
Interactively configure the Oracle ASMLib driver.

       oracleasm configure -e
Enable the driver to start on boot.

       oracleasm-configure -u oracle -i
Set the owner to oracle and proceed to interactively configure the
	   driver.

       oracleasm-configure -l /dev/oracleasm1 -i
Interactively configure an alternate manager device.
