xvmgr(1)xvmgr(1)NAMExvmgr - XVM Manager GUI
SYNOPSISxvmgr [-l user] [-n] [-s server]
DESCRIPTION
The xvmgr command invokes the XVM Manager graphical user interface (GUI).
If CXFS Manager GUI is installed, XVM Manager GUI will include the CXFS
Manager GUI.
The XVM Manager GUI provides access to the tasks that help you set up and
administer your logical volumes and provides icons representing status
and structure.
Options:
-l user Log in to the server as user. Unless -n is supplied, the user
name can also be given in the login window.
-n No login window. If -n is used with -s, xvmgr will connect to
the given server without displaying a login window; otherwise
it will run on the local host. If the connection fails, a
login window will be displayed.
-s server Remote server on which to run the GUI.
EXAMPLES
To connect directly to a server named node1.acme.com, enter the
following:
xvmgr-s node1.acme.com
You will be prompted for a username and a password.
To connect to a server named node1.acme.com using rsh(1C), enter the
following:
xvmgr
Choose the "Remote Shell" connection method and enter the following
"Remote Shell Command":
rsh node1.acme.com
Similarly, you could use ssh(1) if you wanted to connect to a remote
server without your password being visible to everyone on the network.
You need to have your systems configured so that you can connect to the
remote host without being prompted for a password.

xvmgr(1)xvmgr(1)NOTES
You can open a second XVM Manager window by choosing the "New XVM
Manager" option on the File menu in the XVM Manager window. This is the
preferred method of creating a second XVM Manager window, because it
reuses the existing Java process to open the second window instead of
starting a new one, minimizing memory usage on the client.
The sysadm(1M) system administration daemon is run on the XVM server.
This daemon invokes the runpriv(1M) command, which allows the
administrator to grant administrative-level privilege to individual users
for certain commands. When privilege is granted, a user can execute
xvmgr; otherwise, xvmgr can only be executed by root.
