NAME
       sys_attrs_ipv6 - ipv6 subsystem attributes

DESCRIPTION
This reference	page lists and describes attributes for the Internet
Protocol Version 6 (ipv6) kernel subsystem. Refer to the sys_attrs(5)
reference page	for an introduction to the topic of kernel subsystem
       attributes.

	      A value that enables (1) or disables (0) rate-limiting of ICMPv6
	      errors (see RFC 2463).

	      Default value: 1 (enabled)

The minimum time, in milliseconds, to wait before sending ICMPv6
error packets to a particular destination IPv6 address.

	      Default value: 100 (milliseconds)

	      Minimum value: 1

Maximum value: LONG_MAX, or 9 quintillion

The number of packets to send before starting the ICMPv6 error
	      packet rate-limiting timers.

	      Default value: 10 (packets)

	      Minimum value: 0

Maximum value: INT_MAX, or 2 billion

The maximum time, in milliseconds, to wait before sending ICMPv6
error packets to a particular destination IPv6 address.

	      Default value: 1000 (milliseconds)

	      Minimum value: 1

Maximum value: LONG_MAX, or 9 quintillion

The number of hash buckets in the kernel IPv6 local address ta‐
ble. Modify this value only if your system is a Mobile IPv6 Home
Agent. The value of the	in6ifaddr_hsize attribute is	always
rounded down to the nearest power of 2. You can only dynamically
increase this attribute. If you want to decrease	it, you must
	      reboot the system.

	      Default value: 32 (hash buckets)

	      Minimum value: 16

	      Maximum value: 8192

For Mobile IPv6 Home Agents, the mobileipv6_hsize and
in6ifaddr_hsizeattribute values must be the identical.

	      A value that enables (1) or disables (0) a system's ability to
forward IPv6 packets that are not addressed to the system. This
functionality is usually enabled by using the /usr/sbin/ip6_set‐
	      up command.

	      Default value: 0 (disabled)

For systems functioning as routers, both ipv6forwarding and
ipv6router attributes must be 1. For IPv6 hosts	that want to
forward source routed packets, the ipv6forwarding attribute must
	      be 1.

	      A value that enables (1) or disables (0) a system's ability to
forward IPv6 packets that are not addressed to the system. This
functionality is usually enabled by using the /usr/sbin/ip6_set‐
up command. When enabled, Neighbor Advertisements from the sys‐
tem have the IsRouter flag set (see RFC 2461).

	      Default value: 0 (disabled)

For systems functioning as routers, both ipv6forwarding and
	      ipv6router attributes must be 1.

The amount of time after which a mobile node should send a new
home registration to the Mobile IPv6 home agent.	This informa‐
tion is	included in the Binding Acknowledgement message as a
mobility option, and is an optional part of the Mobile IPv6 base
	      protocol.

If you set the attribute value to zero (the default), the inter‐
val option is not sent. This attribute is only valid when the
system has been configured to act as	a Home Agent
	      (mobileipv6_homeagent is set to 1).

	      Default value: 0 (seconds)

	      Minimum value: 0

Maximum value: 262140, or 72 hours

The level of debugging for Mobile IPv6 functionality. Do not
enable this attribute during normal system use.

	      Default value: 0 (disabled)

	      Minimum value: 0

	      Maximum value: 4

The supported debug values are as follows: None Basic binding
added, changed, and deleted messages. The same information as
the previous level and IPv6 input (Home Address), binding
lookups, binding update processing, and simple routing	header
messages. The same information as the previous level and more
detailed routing header, mbuf, and upper-layer caching messages.
The same information as the previous level and timer debugging.

All debugging levels greater than 0 (zero) include Mobile IPv6
	      error messages.

	      A value that enables (1) or disables (0) Mobile IPv6 functional‐
	      ity.

	      Default value: 1 (enabled)

A value that enables (1) or disables (0) Mobile IPv6 Home Agent
functionality. This is automatically enabled when the system is
configured as a Mobile IPv6 Home Agent in /etc/ip6rtrd.conf.

	      Default value: 0 (disabled)

The number of hash buckets in the kernel Mobile IPv6 binding
cache. Modify this value only if your system is a Mobile IPv6
Home Agent. The value of the in6ifaddr_hsize attribute is always
rounded down to the nearest power of 2. You can only dynamically
increase	this attribute. If you want to decrease it, you must
	      reboot the system.

	      Default value: 32 (hash buckets)

	      Minimum value: 16

	      Maximum value: 8192

For Mobile IPv6 Home	Agents, the	mobileipv6_hsize and
in6ifaddr_hsizeattribute values must be the identical.

A value	that enables (1) or disables (0) IPsec protection for
all Mobile IPv6 Binding Update messages.

	      Default value: 0 (disabled)

A value that enables (1) or disables (0)	IPsec protection for
all Mobile IPv6 Binding Update messages with the Home Agent bit
	      set.

	      Default value: 1 (enabled)

The maximum number of Mobile IPv6 binding cache entries allowed.

Default value: UINT_MAX, or 4 billion (entries)

	      Minimum value: 1

Maximum value: UINT_MAX, or 4 billion

The maximum binding cache lifetime, in	seconds, allowed for
	      Mobile IPv6 bindings.

Default value: 262140 (seconds), or 72 hours

	      Minimum value: 0

	      Maximum value: 262140

The maximum number of Mobile IPv6 binding cache entries allowed
for which we will offer Home Agent services.

Default value: UINT_MAX, or 4 billion (entries)

	      Minimum value: 1

Maximum value: UINT_MAX, or 4 billion

A value that enables (1) or disables (0)	the sending of path
maximum transfer unit (PMTU) information by a Home Agent to Cor‐
respondent Nodes. This can occur when the Home Agent is encapsu‐
lating a packet that has exceeded the tunnel MTU.

If enabled, future packets from the Correspondent Node will con‐
sume fewer resources on the Home Agent.

	      Default value: 1 (enabled)

A value that enables (1) or disables (0) rate-limiting of Mobile
	      IPv6 Binding Error messages.

	      Default value: 1 (enabled)

The minimum time, in milliseconds, to wait before sending Mobile
IPv6 Binding Error messages to a particular destination IPv6
	      address.

	      Default value: 100 (milliseconds)

	      Minimum value: 1

Maximum value: LONG_MAX, or 9 quintillion
