NAME
gnarr - generate a dwarven battle cry

       gnarr [-1]
       gnarr -l
       gnarr -h
       gnarr -v
       gnarr -m

Gnarr generates a dwarven battle cry using some preset templates. It is
based on the Dwarven Battle Cry Generator that was in Dragon Magazine,
       with some additions.

OPTIONS
-1 Print one battle cry and exit (normal behavior is to prompt for
another). Suitable for use in scripts.

-l Print all replacements Gnarr can make to templates. You	should
probably pipe this to a pager.

-h Print a help text describing command options.

       -v Print version information.

-m Print multiple battlecries, asking whether to stop after each.

FILES
       /etc/gnarr/templates,
Contains the templates Gnarr uses to construct battle cries; one
is a global system file (installed with Gnarr),	the other is
	      user-specific.

TEMPLATES
Gnarr constructs battle cries by randomly choosing a template from the
list in /etc/gnarr/templates and ~/.gnarrrc, and replacing certain
words with randomly chosen words or phrases. For example, WEAPON is
replaced by a random weapon name. THe word categories are defined by
/etc/gnarr/categories, with each category having a separate configura‐
       tion file in /etc/gnarr/ (i.e. /etc/gnarr/weapons).

For an up-to-date list, and what words they can	be replaced by, see
       gnarr -l.

BUGS
Gnarr generates battle cries	in Common, not Dwarvish. Also, it is
unknown as to whether or not dwarves shout "Rice!" when	entering bat‐
tle. It is the opinion of the author that they do, however since v3,
       they don't.

AUTHOR
Joe Wreschnig <piman@sacredchao.net> is the author Gnarr. This idea
originally appeared in Dragon Magazine. Gnarr is in the public domain,
but you are encouraged to contribute new cry templates or substitutions
back to Joe. Version 3 enhancement and code cleanup by Daniel Ryslink
       <daniel.ryslink@dialtelecom.cz>.
