XSETMON(1) Silicon Graphics XSETMON(1)
NAME
xsetmon, xscreen - set video output format, sync sources and
gamma correction values
SYNOPSIS
xsetmon [-display display] [-help] [-nogui] [-target target
display] [filename]
DESCRIPTION
xsetmon is a GUI program that allows a user to control the
graphics back end. Users can set the video output
format/combinations, the sync sources for the graphics
display, the output channel gain, and gamma correction
values. xsetmon can also be used to set the default video
format to be used at system power-up or graphics
initialization. Users wishing to change the default video
format must have root privileges on the target machine.
The Formats/Combinations page lists the valid video output
formats available for the display. The load button activates
the selection.
Each item in the list of valid formats/combinations is
prefixed with one of the following designations:
"D" for those that can be loaded dynamically (i.e. takes
effect immediately).
"DX" for those that can also be loaded non-dynamically
(i.e. takes effect after the Xserver is restarted).
"X" for those that can only be loaded non-dynamically
(also referred to as non-volatile). An Xserver restart
is required to configure a larger managed area.
When loading a non-volatile format/combination, the user
will be prompted to set it to be the power-on default, and
informed that a logout is necessary for the change to take
effect.
The Server page provides Sync source and Sync voltage
controls.
The Channel page provides Gain control for the display
channel.
The Gamma page provides RGB gamma correction controls.
