ndp(1M)ndp(1M)NAMEndp - neighbor discovery display and control
SYNOPSISndp [ -n ] hostname
ndp [ -n ] -a
ndp-d hostname
ndp-s hostname ether_addr [ temp ]
ndp-i filename
DESCRIPTION
The ndp program displays and modifies the Internet-to-Ethernet address
translation tables used by the IPv6 neighbor discovery protocol.
(ndp(7P)).
With no flags, the program displays the current NDP entry for hostname.
The host can be specified by name or by number, using IPv6 textual
notation.
The ndp flags are:
-a Display all of the current NDP entries.
-d hostname
A superuser can delete an entry for the host called hostname.
-s hostname ether_addr
Creates a NDP entry for the host called hostname with the Ethernet
address ether_addr. The Ethernet address is given as six hexadecimal
bytes separated by colons. The entry is permanent unless the word
temp is given in the command.
-i interface_index
Specify the index of the interface to use when a NDP entry is added
with the -s flags.
-n Causes mapping of IP addresses to hostnames to be suppressed.
