NAME
       gmencoder - GNOME 2 front-end for MPlayer/mencoder

DESCRIPTION
gmencoder is a program that let you easily encode audio/video streams
using MPlayer/mencoder. It supports much of the output codecs as well
as postprocessing, cropping, scale, subtitles ripping, 1 to 3 passes
for encoding and a lot of more options are planned.

CONFIGURATION
It is important that MPlayer has a good configuration. You have to have
a configuration file that allow mplayer to run without parameters but
       the data source.

DO NOT PUT the line "gui=yes" in your MPlayer's configuration file.
gmencoder does not work if MPlayer starts up with gui by default.

There are two	combos	(scale algorithms and post-processing options)
that are filled from a configuration file. If this configuration file
is not	in the correct directory, combos will be empty. The file is
gmencoder_opts and has to be put in /etc/gmencoder_opts or in
       $HOME/.gemencoder_opts.

USAGE
Because	it is	a GUI program, it is very easy to use. The only thing
that you must know is : you have to analyze the	source	before	to be
able to fill the scale, cropping, subtitle or post-processing options.
Before being pressed, the Analyze File and Analyze DVD buttons are not
       mouse-sensitive.
