BGICONS(1)BGICONS(1)NAMEbgicons - maintain icons on the desktop background
SYNOPSISbgicons-icondb icondb [ -inputfile inputfile ]
DESCRIPTIONbgicons maintains icons on the desktop background by comparing its notion
of the system stored in icondb with the new state of the system from
inputfile. If the -inputfile argument is not specified, the new state of
the system is read from standard input.
inputfile is a text file containing lines of serialized DNA. icondb is
maintained by bgicons; the first time bgicons is run for a particular
icondb, it is expected that icondb will not exist. icondb should not be
edited by any program other than bgicons; otherwise bgicons will not
function properly.
bgicons works by creating an icon on the background for each object in
inputfile that is not in icondb, and removing the icon on the background
for each object in icondb that is not in inputfile.
Note: To retrieve device icons that have been deleted from the desktop,
select the System toolchest, then System Manager, then Hardware and
Devices. Click on Removable Media Manager, then drag and drop any of the
devices back to the desktop.
