NAME
strlen - find length of string

STR$ANALYZE_SDESC - Extract length and address of string

EXPLAINATION
The Digital UNIX strlen function covers the same functionality as the
OpenVMS STR$ANALYZE_SDESC string manipulation	routine. The	strlen
function takes	a string and	returns the length of the string NOT
including the nul terminating character. The address of a UNIX	string
is known as it is the handle by which the string is referenced.
