curs_inswch(3)curs_inswch(3)NAME
curs_inswch, inswch, winswch, mvinswch, mvwinswch - Insert a wchar_t
character before the character under the cursor in a Curses window
SYNOPSIS
#include <curses.h>
int inswch(
chtype wch ); int winswch(
WINDOW *win,
chtype wch ); int mvinswch(
int y,
int x,
chtype wch ); int mvwinswch(
WINDOW *win,
int y,
int x,
chtype wch );
LIBRARY
Curses Library (libcurses)
DESCRIPTION
These routines insert the character wch, which contains a wide characā
ter, before the character under the cursor. All characters to the right
of the cursor are moved one space to the right, with the possibility of
the rightmost character on the line being lost. These routines do not
change the cursor position after moving to y, x, if specified. This
does not imply use of the hardware insert-character feature.
NOTES
The header file <curses.h> automatically includes the header file
<stdio.h>.
Note that inswch, mvinswch, and mvwinswch may be macros.
The routines described on this reference page are among the MNLS Curses
functions that are not included in the X/Open Curses CAE specification.
MNLS routines are supported only for backward compatibility reasons.
Use the *ins_wch functions in new applications (see curs_ins_wch(3)).
RETURN VALUES
All routines return the integer ERR upon failure and an integer value
other than ERR upon successful completion.
